Virtual LANs
A Virtual LAN (VLAN) is a group of devices that share the same broadcast domain within a switched network. Broadcast domains describe the extent to which a network propagates a broadcast frame generated by a device.
Some switches can be configured to support single or multiple VLANs. When a switch supports multiple VLANs, the broadcast domains are not shared between the VLANs.
