Configuring a Telnet Management Interface

You can access LinkProof via Telnet. You can configure Telnet access using Web Based Management or CLI.

To configure a Telnet management interface

1.	Select Services > Management Interfaces > Telnet. The Telnet Parameters pane is displayed.

2.	Configure the parameters; and then, click Set.

 

Table 41: Telnet Parameters

Parameter	Description
Telnet Port	The TCP port used by the Telnet.
Telnet Status	Enables and disables the Telnet interface.
Telnet Session Timeout	The time, in minutes, that the device maintains a connection during inactive periods. Values: • 0 — Specifies no timeout. • 1 – 120 Default: 5 Note: To avoid affecting device performance, the timeout is automatically checked every 10 seconds, meaning that the actual timeout can be up to 10 seconds longer.
Telnet Authentication Timeout	Timeout, in seconds, to complete authentication process. Values: 10 – 60 Default: 30
